The Williamsburg and Caryville, Kentucky, communities are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Kaley Brooke Thompson, 26, and her beloved six-year-old son, Easton Michael Matthew Seymour, who both passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Their passing has left family members, friends, and loved ones facing unimaginable grief as they remember two lives connected by an extraordinary bond of love.
Kaley, formerly of Caryville and a resident of Williamsburg, was a devoted mother, cherished daughter, loving sister, and faithful member of Bear Wallow Baptist Church. She was known for her caring heart, compassionate spirit, and deep love for her family. Those who knew Kaley remember her as someone who found joy in caring for those around her and whose kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Easton was a bright and beloved six-year-old whose smile, innocence, and joyful personality brought happiness to all who knew him. His playful nature and loving heart filled the lives of his family with treasured memories that will forever be cherished. Though his time was brief, the love he shared created a lasting legacy that will never be forgotten.
Kaley was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Pamela Thompson, and is survived by her brother, Dylan Thompson and his wife, Triston; her sisters, Megan Phillips and Kelsie Thompson; her grandmother, Barbara Sharp; special aunts Angel Williams and Karen Thompson; special cousin Jessica Green and family; along with many other relatives and close friends.
Easton was preceded in death by both of his parents, Kaley Brooke Thompson and Matthew Seymour. He is survived by his great-grandmother, Barbara Sharp, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate their lives during a visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, at Cross-Smith Funeral Home, with a memorial service following at 2:00 p.m. in Cross-Smith Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jerry Foust and Brother Dewayne Allen.
